泰安城是因古帝王封禪祭祀、百姓朝山進香和游覽觀光發展而成的。岱廟是泰城中軸線上的主體，這條中軸線從泰城南門起，延伸到岱宗坊，然后與登山盤道相接而通向“天庭”，使山與城不僅在功能上，而且在建筑空間序列上形成一體。其序列按登山祭祀活動的程序次第展開，貫穿著一種由“人境”至“仙境”的歷程。從地形上看，是由緩坡、斜坡直到陡坡，人們由低到高，步步升高，最后宛若登上天府;從建筑規模上看，是由人間帝王宮殿上達蒼穹，漸入仙境;從色調上看，紅墻黃瓦始終與蒼松翠柏形成對比。再通過三里一旗桿，五里一牌坊，一天門、二天門(中天門)、三天門(南天門)，三重節奏，構成了一道步步登天，雄偉壯觀的朝天序列。

泰山古建筑主要保存的是明清時期的風格，它的價值不僅在于建筑與會畫、雕刻、山石、林木融為一體，成為中國古老文化的例證，保存了一個巨大的封禪祭祀序列和一幅記載歷史的立體畫卷，而且還為我們留下了順應自然的建筑典范，以其特有的藝術形象去協調和加強自然美，去表現和深化自然環境。由于它們的存在，才使泰山的自然景觀與人文景觀相映生輝，使峻極于天的泰山深入到幾億炎黃子孫的心坎中，并名揚全世界，成為全為類的珍貴遺產。

你們好!熱誠歡迎你們到泰山來，今天我將和家一起從泰山路登上山頂。
這座高、古老的泰山蘊含了豐富的自然與文化的積淀，已被聯合國教科文組織列入世界自然與文化遺產名錄。現在，我們仍要像古人那樣問一句“岱宗夫如何”，然后，同我一起步入山，去領略泰山的神韻。
這里是岱廟。從岱廟開始，經岱宗坊、一天門、紅門、天門、升仙坊至南天門、是古代皇帝封禪泰山所走過的路，現在被知名人稱為“登天景區”，也稱路，是如今泰山登山6條路最古老的一條。我們將從這條路登上極頂。
家注意到了巍峨的岱廟前，還有一座較的廟宇，這就是“遙參亭”，是當年皇帝封禪泰山的起始點。當年帝王來泰山舉行封禪祭典時，都先要在這里舉行簡單的參拜儀式，因此明朝之前，稱此為“草參亭”。明代加以擴建時，改名為“遙參亭”。雖是一字之易，基虔誠卻盡含其了。
朋友們，國的古代建筑在世界建筑史上是有著獨特地位的，這座遙參亭的建筑構思既出于封禪典將由此為前奏而步步進入高潮的需要，也是國古代先抑后揚的美學思想的體現。
正陽門內就是岱廟了，平是一個神奇的方。岱廟有著如此的魅力，決定于它自身的特征。首先，它的圍墻便與一般廟宇不同，圍墻周1300米，5層基石，上砌青磚，呈梯形，下寬17.6米，上寬11米，高約10米，共有8座門：正為正陽門，是岱廟的正門。由正陽門進得岱廟來，迎面是配天門，茸子說的“德配天地”之意。配天門兩側，東為三靈侯殿，西為太尉，三殿之間以墻相連，構成岱廟間第一進院落。
過了仁安門，便是雄偉高的宋天貺，它又叫峻極殿，是這座廟宇的主體。天貺殿面闊9間，643.67米，進深5間，17.18米，通高23.3米。家看，天貺殿坐落在寬敞的白色臺基之上，周圍石雕欄楹環繞，云形望柱齊列，使天貺殿與四周的環境產生了奇妙的效果。
天貺殿周圍施以回廊，形成了一個院落，在國的建筑，廊是起著使空間有聯貫、斂氣、緊密、嚴謹而又富于變化的作用，這是世界建筑史上都加以稱道的。岱廟的回廊把一座重檐廡殿的建筑物緊緊地環抱著，平直與崇高的對比更激起了人們對天貺殿的崇仰。我國古代建筑家深知世上沒有絕對絕對，是從對比產生的，除了四周低平的回廊外，天貺殿前平臺上還修了兩個精巧的御碑亭，既突出了天貺殿，又于雄偉寓含著恬靜閑適，因此天貺殿并不是雄偉兩個字可以概括得了的。
從天貺誣后門出，有磚石甬道與后寢宮相連。宋真宗封泰山時，因將泰山封為“帝”，帝則應當影后”，于是便為之配了個夫人“淑明后”。從這一點看來，岱廟與其說是道教神府，還不如說更像皇家宮廷，這種布局進一步透露了封建統治者利用岱廟進行政治活動的功利目的。
剛才，我們是沿著岱廟的主軸線游覽，而主軸線兩側，原另有4個別院，東面前后兩院，前為“漢柏院”，相傳漢武帝所植的6株古柏就在此院內;后為“東御座”，是皇帝祭泰山下榻的地方。
這里就是泰山有名的十八盤了。約25億年前，在一次被地質學家稱作“泰山運動”的造山運動，古泰山第一次從一片汪洋崛起，以后幾度滄桑，泰山升起又沉沒，沉沒又升起，終于在3000萬年前的“喜馬拉雅山造山運動”，泰山最后形成了今天的模樣。古老的造山運動造就了泰山南麓階梯式上升的三個斷裂帶，最上一層從云步橋斷裂帶到極頂，海拔陡然上升400多米，使得這一層地帶與四周群峰產生強烈對比，猶如寶塔之剎，形成了“東天一柱”的氣勢。
這里是緊十八盤，也是整個登山盤路最為艱難的地段了。家看，石壁上古人的題刻：“努力登高”、“首出萬山”、“共攀青云梯”……那是在勉勵我們。家再看，那負荷百斤的挑山工，再想想當年無名無姓的鑿石修路人……山無言，但它們能激勵人們向上。朋友，登山猶如干任何事業，只有義無反顧地向上，才能戰勝險阻，才能到達最高的境界!
南天門到了，我們現在已置身“天界”了，雖然我們并沒有成仙，但我們在這里領略到了“登天山而天下”的豪邁。
進了南天門，與之相對的是殿取名為“未了軒”，未了軒兩側各一門可以北去。出門往西有一山峰槳月觀峰”，山上有亭，名月觀亭。據說，天高氣爽的深秋時節，在這里還可以一覽“黃河金帶”的奇異景觀：在夕陽映照的天幕下，地變暗了，惟有一曲黃河水，反射出了太陽的光輝，像一條閃光的金帶，將天在地連在一起。入夜，在皎潔的月色下，由此北望可見濟南的萬家燈火，因此月觀峰又稱“望府山”。
出南天門院落東折即為天街。天街，天上的街市，多富詩意的地方。沿天街東行，北有一坊，匾額上題影望吳圣跡”，這就是相傳孔子與顏淵看到吳國閶門外一匹白馬的地方。坊北有孔子廟。
天街最東端就是碧霞祠了，我給家講講碧霞元君的故事。碧霞元君的前身是泰山女神，在民間被稱作“天仙玉女碧霞元君”是百姓心目的泰山主神，并被稱作“泰山奶奶”、“泰山老母”。民眾對泰山老母的候信仰與喜愛，是一種歷史積淀下來的埋藏在人們心靈深層的對母親的愛。多少年來，碧霞元君贏得了百姓的愛戴，至今仍高踞泰山之巔，接受著善男信 女的香火，召喚著去鄉離國的游子。
好，讓我們進到碧霞寺來。2500平方米的地方，建起了山門，正殿，配殿，3座神門，鐘樓、鼓樓、香亭、萬歲樓、千斤鼎、火池，還有照壁、歌舞樓、御碑亭……而且為御高山疾風，殿為銅瓦、碑為銅鑄，金光閃閃，儼然天上宮闕。泰山碧霞祠的高度建筑技巧被認為是我國古代高山建設的典范，人舞到這里來進香并不感其而覺其高，神圣感油然而生。如今，泰山碧霞祠建筑群獨具一格的神品。
出碧霞祠東神門北折沿盤道再上，可見一堵石壁巍然屹立，石壁上石刻遍布，洋洋觀，人稱“觀峰”。觀峰西側，幾年所有的石上也都有古人的手筆，這一帶可謂是露天的書法藝術博物館。
沿觀峰西側盤道而上，至最高處，那些一路上看似走不完的石階終于到了盡頭，這里就是泰山的極頂--玉皇頂了。
玉皇廟建在極頂上，紅墻碧瓦像是給泰山戴上了一頂桂冠。由山門進廟，最先看到的是院央的“極頂石”。極頂石臥在一圈石欄，高不盈米，表面粗糙，如果在別處，將是一塊最普通不地的石頭了。但是在這里，它的旁邊有碑恭恭的寫著：“泰山極頂1545米”。根據地質學分析，就是它，在3000萬年前從海槽率先拱起，它根植于1萬米的地殼深處;就是它，有著數百平方公里的基座，整座山在托舉著它，使它高聳云天，以至玉皇廟的玉皇帝簡直就成了它的守護神。
